Outdoor wedding in Seattle's Ballard and Belltown

The first day of summer, June 21, marked Misty and Brian's wedding at the Sunset Hill Park in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle.  After their ceremony, the reception was held on the rooftop lounge of the Alto Apartments in Belltown, which has the most fabulous view of the Space Needle and a 360-degree view of the city skyline.

Before the wedding, Misty told me that she wanted lots of pictures of her shoes. She didn't tell me what shoes she was going to wear, so I was blown away when she and the entire bridal party showed up in Converse Chuck Taylors.  The men wore black sneakers while the women wore purple. It was a great mix of formal and casual, and I loved the fact that everyone was comfortable!

There were a lot of cute children at the wedding.  Penelope, who's four years old, nearly stole the show with her own little wedding gown.

The reception was held on the rooftop lounge of the Alto Apartments in Belltown, where I happen to live.  This space offers great views of the water, the Space Needle, and downtown Seattle. It's a fabulous yet inexpensive option for a party venue, and I've personally attended and photographed a few wedding receptions there.
